Don Milroy called the
meeting to order at 1:11
p.m.
He welcomed old and new
members.
Pat Bieneman read the
minutes of the 2009
Annual Meeting. The
minutes were approved.
Don asked for a Roll
Call of the 2009 Board
Members present: Don
Milroy, Kim Peacock, Pat
Bieneman, Suzy Kett,
Kevin Mackin, Jackie
York, Robin Madden, Jack
MacArthur, Carol
Peterson, and Pat
Gordon.
Carol Peterson and Pat
Gordon Certified the
Proxies and tallied the
vote.
Pat Gordon gave the
Treasurer’s Report.
Jay Julian gave the
Station #10 Report. All
equipment is online and
operational. Discussed
manpower shortages due
to age/injury and made a
call for volunteers.
Bill Peterson noted
finally getting
addressing issue in
Colony Don Pedro
resolved.
Committee Reports:

PIE Environment.
Sarah Fahlmark
reviewed the purpose
of the committee and
Merrill Horswill
summarized the
highlights of the past
year: gopher tortoise
protection program
started, upgrades made
to demonstration
native gardens,
wildlife friendly yard
program implemented,
and new partnership
with Charlotte County
Estuary program
shoreline survey.

Scholarship
Committee. Pat Gordon
reported that 1
scholarship was
provided in 2009.

Social Committee.
Suzy Kett gave a brief
summary of the year’s
events and thanked
membership for their
help. Requested
volunteers for Easter
pancake breakfast.
Don read the PIE
Charter as outlined in
the Articles of
Incorporation and
By-Laws.
Don gave the President’s
Report, highlighting the
2009 accomplishments and
thanked everyone for
their contributions.
Don announced the
election of 2010 Board
of Directors. He
thanked Carol Peterson
for her many years of
service on the Board and
announced those
re-elected to a new 2
year term: Ken Conner,
Kevin Mackin, Rose
Malone, Don Milroy.
Newly elected to a 2
year term: Cathy Crowe,
Jeff Minett, and Kevin
Stevens.
Don asked the meeting
attendees what they
wanted to accomplish in
2010. The following was
noted:

Address speeding and
littering on island
roads
-
Widening Panama Blvd
on outgoing lane to
add parking
-
Institute an
adopt-a-road program
-
Put trash cans back
and pay county for
pickup
-
Install dune walkovers
with WHPP’s support
-
Address issues created
by road grading
Don adjourned the
