P.I.E BOARD MEETING MINUTES

June 7, 2010

Station #10 Firehouse

5:00 PM

 Present:  Pat Gordon, Cathy Crowe, Don Milroy, Pat Bieneman, Robin Madden, Kevin Stevens, Gay Carrozo, Kim Peacock

Absent:  Kevin Mackin, Jeff Minnett, Suzy Kett, Rose Malone,  Ken Conner

 Guests:  Jay Julian

 The meeting was called to order at 5:00 PM by President, Don Milroy.

 The minutes from the May meeting, held on May 3, 2010, were approved with one correction.

 Committee reports are as follows:

Membership Directory vs. Paid Memberships:           (Undeliverable e-mail addresses were discussed and a list provided.  Kim advised Rose will take over as webmaster.)

            WHPP (no report)

            Friends of P.I.E. (no report)

Art in the Palms (no report)

 

 OLD BUSINESS:

--The status of the walkover on Access #12 was discussed.  Pat Gordon is working to get the county permit.   It was decided that the private signs should be put back up.

 

--Jay Julian tried to unsuccessfully to get people to help him write a letter or position paper with layman’s terms to explain the process for possibly dissolving the MSBU and having the County take over manning the fire station.  Jay will be meeting with the County Commissioners to discuss further.  We are operating fully now, but the force is being depleted.  He will get us a letter we can post on the bulletin board with information.  There is enough money to run for 2-3 years without raising taxes on the mainland.  Our fire station could be renovated to accommodate emergency personnel overnight.  The process will include communications to the public and public hearings.  

 --Water Outage Notification:  Robin will obtain procedures.

 --House Numbering/Signage:  Cathy Crowe is in the process of putting up the signs.
