BOARD MEETING MINUTES

  Palm Island Estates Homeowners Association
Board Meeting

December 3, 2007
Firehouse

Attending:  Board Members Carol Peterson, Don Milroy, Suzy Kett, Pat Gordon, Gaye Corozzo, Mike Spallone, Meryl Schaffer, Kevin Mackin, Bob Horswill, and Kim Peacock.  Also attending were Ken Conner and Rose Malone.

Carol called the meeting to order at 5:05 pm.

The minutes were approved with the correction of the Annual Meeting date from Jan 29th to Jan 20th.

Pat Gordon discussed Art in the Palms profit:  $5,872.25.

Carol said the Annual Meeting mailing would be going to the 230 members, plus 10 new island residents.

Suzy talked about the upcoming New Year’s Day Parade.  She will work with Rose, Meryl, and Gaye to buy prizes and make and distribute posters.  Also discussed was what was allowed in the parade.  The members decided that anything buy cars was allowable:  golf carts, heavy equipment, and walking.  Kim is to send an email to PIE members announcing the parade.

Members discussed the lack of bulletin boards to promote events.  It was decided that Don would install the existing board by the car ferry line at the barge landing.  It was also decided that Don would talk with Robin Madden at Islander about their Bulletin Board and ask: 1) When they would put it up and where?  2) If they would like to donate the Bulletin Board to PIE.

Carol then discussed the Annual Meeting agenda.  The following are among the items on the agenda:  beach accesses, Suzy & PIE events, Art in the Palms, Jay from the Fire Station, Kim & the internet and Membership Directory, the Panama Blvd letter campaign.  Carol will use the white board to record members’ suggestions, and she will be ready to answer questions about dogs on the beach and bridge update

Carol adjourned the meeting at 5:50 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Kim Peacock
