BOARD MEETING MINUTES

 December 5, 2005

OLD BUSINESS:

Minutes from the Nov. 7, 2005 meeting were presented and a motion to approve was made by Kim Peacock and seconded by Meryl Schaffer

Pat Gordon  submitted the Treasurer's Report and the Project Report both were approved and a motion was made by Cassie and seconded by Gay

COMMITTEES:

Scholarship Committee report was given by Kathy Sadenwater and Sally Mingerink.  They expressed gratitude to the Board for voting to continue to give the Barge funds to the committee. The needs in the years to come are great , so these funds continue to be a necessary part of their planning and are appreciated . The requirements for acceptance in the scholarship program are being reviewed and a new proposal will be presented at the Feb. meeting. Further discussion was tabled until that time. The stockings from the fund raiser are being donated to the Sterling Retirement Center and delivered (filled) by the committee members as Friends of PIE .

Environment Committee report was presented by Bob Horswill. Habitat Preservation Committee continue to work on lots to relocate trees and fine adoptive home sites.

Art in the Palms was a tremendous success thanks to all the volunteers. We particularly recognize the chairs - Susie Kett, Gay Carozzo, and Kim Peacock. The group has debriefed and made notes to improve and continue for next year. More discussion to follow at a later time.

NEW BUSINESS:

The PIE Membership Letter is to go out by the 15th of Dec. to all present members and any new property owners as of this year. Kevin and other realtors will provide lists of new residents. Gay to contact Palm Island Resort.  Meryl will update the letter and Valerie will print, Sharon will stuff and mail.

Nominating committee will forward bios of new board candidates to Kim to put on the website.

Holiday Light Judging Dec. 17 6p.m. (Susie's group to judge, Gay to provide prizes

Jan. 1 - Annual Heavy Equipment Parade 11a.m.

Jan.15 - Annual P.I.E. Meeting and election of new officers

Street Party  to be announced

April 1 - Dinner Dance

April 16 - Easter Service and Breakfast

Motion to adjourn was made at 6:35p.m. by Kim Peacock and seconded by Meryl Schaffer.
