Milroy, Meryl Schaffer,
Suzy Kett, and Kim
Peacock. Also present:
Cathy Sadenwater and
Sarah Fahlmark.
Carol Peterson called
the meeting to order at
5 p.m. Carol asked for
a motion to approve the
minutes of the January
Annual Meeting. Don
Milroy made a motion to
approve the minutes.
Pat Gordon seconded.
Motion passed.
Pat Gordon gave the
Treasurer’s Report. She
noted that paperwork is
now ready to change from
Englewood Bank to Bank
of America, at which
point the Strong Fund
can be put into a better
investment vehicle.
Cathy Sadenwater
suggested putting the
Scholarship Fund into an
interest-bearing
account. Don Milroy
made a motion to approve
the Treasurer’s Report.
Kevin Mackin seconded.
Motion passed.
Sarah Fahlmark gave a
presentation on WHPP,
saying 2005 goals were
achieved. She asked for
funding from PIE: $500
for production of
additional Environmental
Packets + $1,000 for
Native Plants Gardens.
She also announced the
Earth Day Celebration on
April 21st:
an Island Garden Open
House with self-guided
tours and handouts.
Cathy Sadenwater
presented the revised
scholarship
requirements. After
reviewing the document,
the board suggested that
the island community
service requirement be
10 hours, effective June
1, 2006. Sharon Porro
made a motion to approve
the changes. Meryl
Schaffer seconded.
Motion passed.
Suzy Kett reviewed the
results of the Street
Dance. The Board
Members discussed the
PIE Membership Drive.
It was decided that the
Board would spend $500
to do a Membership Drive
targeting new property
owners.
Starting from the list
generated at the Annual
Meeting, Carol asked the
members to discuss the
list of projects for
2006. After much
discussion, priorities
emerged: House
Numbering, Hiring
off-duty officers for
holidays, Refurbishment
and creation of new
“Fun” signs, and a
Welcome Wagon. Also
discussed: a Membership
Directory, Cookbook,
Island Angels, Island
Mail Service, and Dogs
on the Beach signage.
Pat Gordon reviewed her
suggested Budget and
announced the Lights Out
Party on April 30th.
The event will be Pot
Luck with magnet
handouts.
The budget item of
Access Surveys was
discussed. Meryl and
Carol explained that as
new homes are being
built, the Beach
Accesses are being
encroached on, and we
are losing them.
Carol asked that all
members review the
project and budget
information and arrive
ready to make decisions
at the next meeting.
Don Milroy moved to
adjorn the meeting.
Sharon Porro seconded.
