Cathy Crowe
Greetings, I am
Cathy Crowe and
my daughters,
Courtney, 21,
Janice, 18, and
Emma, 14, feel
as if a blanket
of warmth has
encircled us by
all the new
neighbors we
have been
blessed to meet
and work with
this year. We,
like so many of
our neighbors,
found Don Pedro
Island over ten
years ago and
fell in love. I
have watched my
daughters grow
up during our
Spring breaks
from the winters
in the
Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania
area.
I have many
passions, but
closest to my
heart is
educating my
children through
homeschooling to
become active
and
inspirational
members of their
communities. I
feel as an adult
it is our duty
to set the
example for the
children to
follow; they are
the future
caretakers of
this world. I
count myself
fortunate to
have been given
the opportunity
to be a
stay-at-home
mother for the
past 21 years,
though, at home,
didn’t really
mean “at home.”
My strong
organizational
skills helped me
balance the many
years of school,
church, and
community
involvements.
I’ve served on
PTA and church
boards, prepared
and distributed
meals, hung
drywall for
Habitat, been an
active supporter
of church
mission
fundraisers,
established food
distribution
organization for
rural community,
organized toy
drives, taught
Sunday school,
served as Elder
of the
Presbyterian
Church USA, and
the list goes
on.
What
do I plan to do
for the Island?
Try to help keep
the peace and
tranquility that
I think each and
every homeowner
purchased their
piece of
paradise for.
We all have our
own reasons for
living on island
and they may not
all be the same,
but I feel we
must try to
remain
empathetic to
our differences
and energetic in
our
similarities. I
count my
blessings every
day that I get
to call this
amazing place to
live, “home.”
